Cara Fraser
Cara fell in love with yoga from the first time she took a yoga class. Since she grew up as a gymnast and dancer, the movement of yoga felt very familiar and comforting. But she soon realized that yoga had many additional benefits, such as helping to relieve every day stress and ease anxiety.
She worked in high stress accounting jobs for almost 20 years and dreamed of teaching yoga but never really thought it was possible. Then in 2015, she took her 200-hour yoga teacher training at YogaWorks, which focused on anatomy and alignment. She ultimately took other trainings that let her down the path to complete a 500-hour certification, becoming a Yoga Medicine Therapeutic Specialist in March 2021.
Cara’s classes are dedicated to connecting mindful breath to movement, in order to support strength and mobility. She gives various options for poses, so that students can select what pose meets their needs that day. In addition, she encourages people to tune into their own intuition during class, in order to move with awareness and compassion, both on and off the mat.
